Four years of building with AI
I built the websites, games and applications in the “My projects” section independently, using AI. Some grow out of my earlier projects; others start from scratch. Over the past four years, AI has become a central part of building and developing them. Other developers have since joined some of these projects to help develop them further.
I am responsible for the idea, architecture, code, integrations and deployment. AI helps me move through those stages faster, explore different approaches and work on several parts of a system in parallel. Product decisions and responsibility remain with me.
A scale that used to be difficult for one person
Looking at the combined scope of my projects, I estimate that building them without AI could have taken a single programmer around 100 years or more. This is my own estimate, based on their functionality and my experience of working before AI.
These are substantial products in areas where billion-dollar companies also operate: search engines, video platforms, teamwork software and online games. My comparison concerns technical scope and product ambition. Winning users, developing a business and reaching that market scale are separate challenges.
The interface shows less than half of the work
In my assessment, the publicly visible parts of these products represent less than half of the work. Behind the websites and apps are CMS platforms, admin panels, editorial tools, integrations and systems supporting everyday operations.
Data flows, content and user management, automation, tests, monitoring and deployment processes all need to be built. They help the product run and grow, even though they rarely appear in a screenshot.
What this brings to consulting
I understand the path from an idea to a product, including how much work remains after the first working prototype. I help choose AI applications around real needs, connect them to existing systems and assess the results.
If you want to use AI in your business, develop a product or improve your programming workflow, we can look at a specific process and choose a practical first step.
This account concerns my own projects. Websites I worked on professionally with other teams are shown separately in the portfolio.
